Program Description: A parent-child developmental playgroup offered by Children's Hospital & Research Center, Oakland that provides playtime, parent support and education, assessments and screening for children 0-5 years old once a week. One to two home visits are included. Program targets children birth to five with an emphasis on children 18 months to 3 1/2 with emerging developmental delays or concerns. Schedule includes circle time, snack, play-exploration, special activities, and a weekly parent support group which promotes community building, linkage to community resources and guest speakers. Program enrolls families with children with developmental concerns. Playgroup is in Spanish and runs for 6 month sessions, staffed with Infant Development Specialists, Infant Development Assistants, Mental Health Specialists and Family Partners.
