Program AKA (also known as): FOSTER PAL

Program Description: The Foster Parent Advice Line, Foster PAL (888-580-3725; 510-893-9266) is Family Path’s advice line that provides the same support as the Parent Support Hotline, but is tailored to meet the specific needs of foster parents, kinship caregivers, and adoptive parents. It offers assistance to families and caregivers of children 0-18 years of age, and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The line is staffed by professional counselors, who respond to families in crisis, experiencing high stress, or needing assistance finding community resources or signing up for services offered through Family Paths, such as psychotherapy for children and caregivers, parent education classes, yoga, group for women, and group for children. The line also provides access to case management assistance to callers through our Foster Parent Community Advocate. The Foster Parent Advice Line serves Alameda County caregivers from all backgrounds, incomes, and family structures with respect, integrity, compassion, and hope.
