See a movie for a Buck!

For $10 per person, you can go to every movie in the Kids Movie Series this summer hosted by The Alameda Theatre & Cineplex on Central Ave in Alameda. That's about a dollar per movie – when you buy the movie “sheets” in person. Beat the line and buy online for $11/sheet. the Alameda Education Foundation is proud to participate in the Alameda Theater & Cineplex’ Family Summer Movie Series.  Celebrate summer and revisit your favorite family movies on the big screen.  Thanks to the Alameda Theater & Cineplex, all proceeds from ticket sales by the Alameda Education Foundation support Adopt A Classroom, Middle School Sports and Enrichment scholarship programs.
 
Showings are 10 am on both Tuesday and Wednesdays, and the series lasts for ten weeks, starting the week of June 13th.

JULY 18, 2017 - $1 Summer Family Movie Festival | Regal Theaters (Dublin)

Regal Theaters across the Bay Area have once again planned a fun-filled Summer Movie Express of select family movies for $1 for kids and parents from June to August.

Watch select G or PG rated movies for only a dollar on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 am. Participating Northern California Regal Theaters are located in Fairfield and Dublin.

Each week both movies play on both days. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Will Rogers Institute.

JULY 28, 2017 - FREE Starlight Movies in the Park (Alameda)

Free Starlight Movies in the Park is back this summer for families to enjoy. Each event starts at 6:30 p.m. with Pre-Show Games and Crafts Activities for kids.  Featured movie will be shown at approximately 8:15 p.m.
 
Snacks and food are available for purchase and proceeds support the Teen Program.  Bring your own chairs and blankets and enjoy a film under the stars.  No barbecue grills, alcoholic beverages and pets allowed.

Friday, July 28 movie feature is Disney Pixar's Finding Dory (PG)

Kites aren’t just for kids any more. Experience the artistry of modern kite flying at the 32nd Annual Berkeley Kite Festival & West Coast Kite Championships.

AUGUST 11, 2017 - ZOOVIE NIGHTS! Movie:  Disneynature: African Cats (Oakland)

Put on your jammies and enjoy an evening of animal close-ups and a bonus Zoovie movie with the whole family.

Bring your pillows, blankets, and chairs and snuggle up in the auditorium as Roosevelt, the zoo's costumed alligator mascot, introduces you to some of the nocturnal Education animals. After that, enjoy a specially-selected animal-or nature-themed movie. Hot chocolate (with marshmallows, of course) and popcorn will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own treats and traditional family movie fare.  Recommended for families with children ages 3 and up.

OCTOBER 14, 2017 - Harvest Fair (Dublin)

Turn back time and enjoy an afternoon of old-fashioned fall fun at the picturesque Heritage Park and Museums. The rustic barns, cemetery and historic buildings at the park provide the perfect setting for all of the aromas and sounds of fall on the farm.  Live music will fill the air as visitors enjoy tractor-pulled wagon-rides, play in a hay stack, and stroll through the vendor booths. The 1910 Kolb House and 1850s Murray Schoolhouse will be open during the event for tours.  Enticing fall foods, including caramel apples, pie, hot apple cider, and popcorn will be available for purchase.
