The City of Alameda is inviting families to participate in free summer recreation activities for children and caregivers. 

Children can take part in games, creative play, and recreation activities during the afternoon drop-in program at local open spaces. The program is designed for a wide range of ages and gives families flexible opportunities to enjoy outdoor play and community activities throughout the summer. Registration is required. 

Date: Monday - Friday 

Time: 12:30PM - 4:30PM 

Cost: Free  

Location: Jean Sweeney Open Space, 280 Constitution Way, Alameda and Lincoln Park Open Space, High St. & Fernside Blvd., Alameda

Trybe is inviting families to enjoy free summer activities and creative play for children and teens. 

Children and caregivers can take part in arts and crafts, cooking, basketball, skating, karaoke, games, and insect-themed activities throughout the week. The drop-in summer program is designed for ages 0-14 and encourages families to explore hands-on activities, movement, and community fun. Adults must remain with children ages 0-6.

Berkeley Public Library provides free summer lunches and activities for youth. 

Children and teens ages 18 and under can receive a free lunch and take part in activities such as cooking classes, arts and crafts, games, and hands-on projects. Meals are provided in partnership with the Berkeley Unified School District.

The East Bay Regional Park District is inviting families to explore shoreline wildlife. 

Participants will walk along the shoreline to a protected bird nesting area while learning about local marsh plants, wildlife, and birds that live in the wetlands. The program is open to all ages and includes special access to the nesting island, with binoculars recommended for bird viewing.

The City of Berkeley is inviting children, teens, and families to an annual community picnic. 

Spend the day racing through obstacle courses, visiting the petting zoo, playing carnival games, and jumping on giant inflatables. Little ones can explore the Tot Zone while older children and teens take part in sports challenges, and lunch, popcorn, and cotton candy will be provided.
