Program Description: This 10-week series is designed to empower young parents (ages 14-25) including expectant young parents to make healthier choices, to build empathy and self-worth, learn positive ways to deal with stress and anger and alternatives to spanking, develop positive parent-child attachment and to be positive role models for their children. Priority is Alameda Co. residents. Other counties will be considered on a case-by-case basis, please call (510) 380-1734 to inquire. To qualify for these classes participants must be parents or expectant parents ages 14 to 25 who have had any (past or present) involved in the juvenile justice system and/or who are considered *crossover youth within the child welfare system. * (involvement in both the juvenile justice (ex. probation) and child welfare systems (ex. foster care)

General Comments: The class is provided on-line via ZOOM meetings on Tuesdays from 4/15/25 thru 6/17/25 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM (PDT) with a Live instructor who is a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and Certified Nurturing Parenting Practitioner. Participants are expected to attend with their cameras ON, ready to share, learn, and participate. In addition, as part of the program participants are expected to attend five 45-60 minutes one-on-one parent coaching sessions. Upon successful completion of the classes and coaching sessions participants will receive certificate of completion. An additional $500 gift card incentive will be provided to those who qualify.
