Program Description: A credentialed teacher of the deaf trained in early childhood development, or a speech and language therapist, works with each family in a play-based, natural environment. Parents and family members learn about a variety of issues including: proper use of hearing aids and cochlear implants; effective strategies for developing vocalizations, speech and sign language; impact of temperament and learning styles; and techniques for engaging their child in age-appropriate play and meaningful communication.
